The royal coronation of King Charles III makes this a very exciting year to be in Britain. Better still, it gives us all an extra day off to enjoy, creating a bank holiday bonanza in the spring.
This year, between Good Friday on the 7th April and Spring Bank Holiday on 29th of May, the UK will enjoy no less than five bank holidays in seven weeks, with four long weekends away from work for many of us to celebrate with our kids, our family and our friends.
When are the bank holidays in 2023?
Spring starts with two bank holidays, with Good Friday on 7th April and Easter Monday on the 10th. Then, just three weeks later we have another long weekend for the May Day Bank Holiday on the 1st May, followed by a bonus bank holiday for the King’s coronation the following weekend, on the 8th May. The bank holiday bonanza is rounded off by another long weekend just three weeks later with the Spring Bank Holiday.
