21 November 19 - Disco Dome Party Fun

So another exciting week for Monster Inflatables with lots of hires going out in Chelmsford and surrounding towns, including one of our ever increasingly popular disco domes.

The dome was hired for a 9 year old's birthday party in Romford. The dome was hired for the whole day, with the set up time being 11:00am. On arrival, as usual, we assessed the location for the inflatable prior to unloading. The first thing we noticed was that the house was a terraced house, so access was going to have be via the front door. The hall way was quite narrow, with a few twist and turns before we reached the back doors to the garden, via a step from the kitchen to the dining room. The house was very well decorated too, so we needed to be extra careful bringing all the equipment through as we did not want to damage any of the customer's furnishings. The weather over last weekend wasn't great so the garden where the dome was to be situated was considerably wet. On top of that we had to walk directly onto wet decking, which was surely going to make the set up a bit trickier.

Once assessed, we started bringing through all the equipment, which included the dome, blower, extension reels, our speaker system, pegs, and ground sheet. As it was wet, we started by laying the ground sheet, followed by the unroll of the dome over the sheet. It was a small garden (in width) so we didn't have much room to play with either side of it. We then fixed the blower to the air filler tube and zipped up the 2 zips to stop the air escaping. We then fixed the light to the top of the dome, trailing a wire in a weather proof box down the back. The next step was to switch the blower on (which is always my favourite part), before installing our brand new Ion weather proof block rocker to add some great quality sound to the dome. This is installed behind the dome and held on with 2 straps and a cover,

Once this was done all we had to do was connect a mobile device via Bluetooth to the speaker, then we were nearly ready to go.

At this point, the birthday boy and his brother were itching to jump on and have a go, but there was a couple of things to do first.

First of all, the dome need to be pegged down and made sure it was and safe and sturdy, followed by a quality check. During our quality check, which we do on setting up and pack down, we had to make sure there were no obvious holes, tears or faults with the product, followed by our hygiene check, which includes a sweep out and clean of the inflatable, if necessary.

Once this was complete, we were ready to go and within 2-3 minutes the whole family were jumping up and down to party music on the dome.

This was going to be another great party, with Monster Inflatables playing their part in this young lads special day.
