So this weekend was typically busy for Monster Inflatables. Not only did we have many of our inflatables and soft play on private hire, we also hosted one of our very popular go kart parties.
The birthday child, Adam, was 7 this weekend and had the best party ever. Not only did his parents hire our go karts, he also had our Minecraft castle on hire too. The venue was Marshalls Park Academy, Romford, and was extremely spacious, which was perfect for go kart parties, allowing a good safe distance between the spectators and the karts. The extra space also allowed our clients to hire one of our bouncy castles, and being as the birthday boy was into Minecraft, we were glad we could provide his favourite theme.
After a frantic set up we were all ready to go by 2:00pm, starting with a safety briefing for all the little monster racers. The children then, in turn, drove around our track for a warm up to get the feel of the karts before the real fun started. After a quick warm up we really tested their driving skills, by encouraging the children to drive in an out of our slalom, which was a selection of our imitation road signs in the middle of the track. All the children were fantastic, so we then moved onto our "start/stop" game, which tests the confidence and coordination of the children. We used our very own traffic lights, going from red to amber to green and then from green to amber to red as if the children were actually on a road at the traffic lights. The children loved this as it gave them the opportunity to do what mum and dad do when they're driving.
After a short break, the party games started. The first one played was one of our favourites, "musical karts". In this game the children had to drive around the track to the music and then (like the traditional game) the children had to stop when the music stopped. After several rounds of elimination, we then had a race between the birthday boy and the winner of musical karts. We also gave the children the opportunity to pass a Monster Karts driving test, where they all passed and all received a medal to show off their skills to all their friends.
